Businesses using AI-generated marketing copy know it’s average, but they use it anyway. You can hardly blame them. LLM outputs are fast, free, and good enough to clear the bar most marketing content limbos under. No one’s getting fired for a LinkedIn post that sounds familiar.
So, for this human writer to rant about the quality of AI writing misses the point. It’s not a problem marketers believe needs solving.
However, cutting a professional writer out of the process risks undoing all that AI-assisted efficiency. Because AI can execute copy beautifully once it’s been told what to say – it just can’t tell you what’s worth saying.
That’s a big deal when audiences are struggling under so much content. When everyone’s better at producing more of it, the bar for being listened to is set so much higher.
This is where a decent human writer puts AI in the shade. Bots aren’t known for their judgement – and you need the finely tuned human variety to identify what’s actually worth saying.
Before the writing starts a good writer takes the time to understand the audience – where, when and why they’re looking to hear from you. It is only when you know what makes your audience tick that you can say something they will trust. Otherwise your message comes across as ill considered. And if you can’t be arsed spending the time to think about how best to get attention, then no one will give it to you.
Vernacular closes this gap. Not “can you write it better than ChatGPT”. We can, but that’s not the pitch anymore. Rather, “can you tell me what’s actually worth saying before anyone writes a word.”
This is why we’ve built a service around exactly that.
